Imovane is used for short-term and symptomatic relief of sleep disturbances.
Imovane may also be prescribed for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
Dosages of Imovane varies by patient. Use Imovane exactly as prescribed by your doctor and/or the directions on your prescription label.
Imovane is usually taken right before bed. You should not typically use Imovane for more than 7 to 10 days in a row.
If you miss a dose of Imovane, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
If you suspect you may have overdosed on Imovane, or are having an allergic reaction the medication, seek medical attention immediately.
Serious side effects may include:
-clumsiness or unsteadiness
-daytime anxiety or restlessness
-difficult or laboured breathing
difficulty with coordination
-shortness of breath
-signs of depression (poor concentration, changes in weight, changes in sleep, decreased interest in activities, thoughts of suicide)
-withdrawal effects (abdominal cramps, vomiting, sweating, tremor, seizures)

There are drugs that interact with Imovane. You should tell your doctor about all of the medications you use, including prescription drugs, vitamins, supplements and herbal products, and over the counter medications. You should always tell your doctor before you start taking new medication.
